Too Late — Colleen Hoover

Summary

In Too Late, Colleen Hoover masterfully unfolds the harrowing struggle of being trapped in an abusive relationship through the eyes of Sloan, a college girl who will sacrifice everything for those she loves. Every day, Sloan lives under the control of her boyfriend, Asa Jackson, who runs a drug trafficking operation in their home. Sloan battles the desire to leave with the fear for her own life and the need to stay for her special needs brother, whose care is funded by Asa’s dirty business.

In this gripping novel, Colleen Hoover takes readers on a heart-wrenching journey through Sloan's life, exploring themes of love, sacrifice, and resilience. As Sloan navigates the dangerous and manipulative reality Asa has created for her, she meets Carter, an undercover agent, in her Spanish class. Immediately, she is infatuated with his personality and mysterious charm. Sloan's decision to pursue a romantic connection with Carter opens her eyes to the love she deserves, but also increases the risk of Asa’s abuse and anger as he becomes suspicious of their relationship. As Sloan falls further for Carter, Asa's scary obsession with Sloan deepens.

Sloan has to decide on what to do next, before it is “too late”.
